Welcome to the Future
Wow, here we are, folks. I’m feeling a little nostalgic because, if you haven’t noticed, this here blog has gotten a major facelift all thanks to Gertrude Pillena and her team at Design Kick!
As I settle into these kickin’ new digs, you’ll notice some new changes. It’s far overdue: I’ve been writing about all things Hollywood, storytelling, and freelance writing for the past decade, and it was about time I outgrew my old Wordpress site I started at age 15 and am now moving on to bigger and better things.
(All those podcast ads were right: Squarespace is the future!)
What’s Next for Me & This Blog
I wanted to write this post not only to wax poetic about the gorgeous new website I now inhabit with these words, but to also share some life updates along with what’s next on the horizon.
My partner Kyle and I are continuing our world tour: we just wrapped up our 9 month quarantine roadtrip (details of which you can find in our remote work travel series here on the blog!) and are about to embark on a 3 1/2 month Europe trip where we’ll be continuing that digital nomad life.
I’ll be sharing photos and updates here on the blog as we begin our adventure!
In terms of this blog, here’s what types of posts you can expect moving forward:
Digital nomad life updates, remote work, and travel tips. I’ve loved my life as a digital nomad. Los Angeles will always have my heart and be my home base, but being able to travel all over the world has changed my perspective on the importance of exploration. I’ll be sharing more posts about remote work (aka the future!) and our favorite places we’ve visited so far on our travels.
Freelance writing, mindful entrepreneurship, and creator economy advice. It’s my belief that we’re moving to a creator economy: that is, a world powered by small businesses and independent experts and creatives. I’ll also be sharing more mindful entrepreneurship frameworks and other nuggets of knowledge I’ve been collecting both in my freelance writing life and my founder world.
Storytelling and creative writing, from novels to TV to scripted and unscripted podcasts. I’ll still be slingin’ my usual combo of creative writing tips n’ tricks — that won’t change. As a form-agnostic, give-me-a-format-and-I’ll-take-it-on writer, I’m here to help you imbue anything and everything with Story with a capital “S.”
Aaand that’s all for now, folks. I’m writing this from San Diego, where I’ve spent the day exploring and eating lots of good vegan food. We’re back on the road (and headed to Europe!) in a few weeks’ time.
More soon.
xoxo,
-Amy
